We collect pebbles in our buckets,
stars circulating our collar bones,
thru Pegasus darkness,
we voyage into the unknown,
hoping,
but forbidden to hope,
troubled by uncharted waters,
unfriendly to strangers.
Alone, yet herded,
stray cattle thrown to the seas,
all returns are closed.
Hope is our maiden,
she holds our hands,
while the dog we fear,
bites at our heels.
